This ground-breaking book analyses the relationship between gardening and mental health. It was inspired by Sue’s desire to bring rigour to the ways in which nature can improve people’s lives beyond the passive notion that gardens, and gardening just makes us happy.
Sue said she initially thought ‘gardening was a bit like housework’ but through her love of Tom and personal research, she has explored the many ways that gardens improve lives, including reducing prisoner recidivism, healing in hospital patients and has profund insight into how nature can assist in overcoming extreme events including the Australian fires in the summer of 2019.
